The Native American cradleboard is a culturally significant item. This traditional device, made from wood, leather, and cloth, functions as both a baby carrier and a cradle. It supports infants securely, allowing mothers to manage their daily tasks while keeping their babies close. Its curved shape provides comfort and prevents babies from moving too much, ensuring their safety during travel or while mothers work.

Cradleboards also offer warmth, as many are lined with soft blankets or furs, keeping babies cozy in different weathers. The design often includes a hood or flap to protect against wind and sun, and in colder areas, mothers add layers for extra warmth.

I created this ring to honor mothers. She carries us before we enter this world, she carries us as an infant, as a toddler, and as an adult we still reach out to our her and she does what she can to carry us through our trials. Whether a mother has had her child for years, or lost them through tragedy, this ring is for her. To symbolize that she will carry her little one forever.
